Team Switched's Underswap（简称TS!Underswap，曾用名Undertale: Underswap）是现由Beethovenus领导的开发团队Team Switched制作的Underswap翻版项目。其更新的主要展现形式为开发与发布并行的同人游戏，玩家将操纵一名坠入地底世界的孩童，并在回到地表的征途中遇到经过重构想的熟悉面孔或完全原创的陌生敌人。
该项目被认作是对Undertale及其社区同人Underswap的重构想，其着重于在围绕角色站位互换这一核心基础上，保留角色的原始性格并扩展其个性以服务剧情。[1]
历程
2016年2月，UltraEpicLeader100与时名“Sans's Dunkateer”的Garrett D. Bogle创建了名为“Team Switched”的二人游戏开发团队，其中前者作为团队领导负责创意设计和统筹管理，后者则负责配乐音效和剧本编写。Undertale: Underswap，即Underswap的同人游戏是该团队的首个项目，也是团队的组建原因。[2]同月13日，Garrett D. Bogle开始在SoundCloud投稿其为该项目制作的一系列游戏配乐，尽管其大部分作品都是套用原作配乐的现成MIDI工程的简单混音。[3][4]14日，Team Switched正式对外招募包括美术与编程的游戏开发人员，[2]项目的GameJolt页面也在同月16日创建。[5][6]
由于UltraEpicLeader100实际对该项目缺乏创作热情和实际贡献，[7][8]Team Switched的领导权最终于2016年3月被转交至Garrett D. Bogle。[9]同时，随着开发团队人员的扩充，[10]游戏的美术资产创建与编程工作也在当月正式开始。[11][12]同年5月，时任团队首席程序员的StarsFirefly在其YouTube账号发布了项目的首个正式宣传片，其中展示了命名界面到初探遗迹的游玩部分。[13]尽管Garrett D. Bogle曾透露游戏将会包含新的剧情以及头目战，[2]但其目前展示的角色形象及相关设定与原Underswap几乎无异。
同年6月，Team Switched内部爆发了一系列围绕Garrett D. Bogle与前首席像素美术Addicted2Electronics的争执。其归因于团队成员关于游戏设计决策的分歧，最终导致Addicted2Electronics退出团队并撤销了占当时的资产主要部分的精灵图使用权，[14]而Granpris不得不接替在矛盾爆发后试图删除游戏资产与代码的Garrett D. Bogle的团队领导职位。[15][16][17]事后，项目的GameJolt与YouTube账号均因Team Switched的分裂而被迫迁移，[18][19]团队成员也重新进行了招募。
同年8月20日，Team Switched在Imgur上发布了基于游戏内容的像素条漫以暂时代替未完成的游戏演示版本向公众展示预期游戏效果。[20]9月，Team Switched为该项目创建了Tumblr账号用于角色问答互动和项目宣传，[21]其在之后因账号管理人员的Tumblr被封禁而一同被注销，新博客暨现用Tumblr账号则于2018年4月创建。[21][22]。除此之外，Team Switched也在当月于其新YouTube账号发布了新的游戏预告片。[23]尽管其展示的内容主要接续自先前预告片内容，但游戏开始采用了时任团队首席曲师Robin Blend为该项目创作的原创配乐，[24]其中大部分经过多年的开发变动仍旧沿用至今或通过翻新在当今焕发生机。[25]
2017年间，Team Switched对以角色设计为主的游戏特色及其开发方向进行了一系列摸索，致力于让该项目更具原创性以给予玩家全新的游戏体验。[12]同年5月28日，Team Switched在其发布的年度总结中首次对外公开了角色形象变动，其中包括重新设计的Asgore与Papyrus，以及细微修改的Temmie、Sans、Alphys等角色。前者通过内部迭代或外部灵感参考逐渐为该项目增添原创色彩，后者更多则是修改精灵图风格以尽量避免使用原作资产。[26]同年9月17日，Team Switched正式对外公布了重新设计的Sans形象，[27]但由于其与主流社区的预期——即更希望使用纯粹互换性格的“Blueberry”相差甚异，这一设计实际反响并不佳。[28]10月9日，Team Switched最终发布了经过统筹内部意见与社区反馈而改动的Sans设计，同时也重申了该项目是对原Underswap更具现代化的个人诠释。一同被改变的还有该项目的对外名称，其正式被称作“Team Switched: Underswap (TS: Underswap)”，以便与PopcornPr1nce的作品或社区的其他同人作品作出区别。[29][30]
2018年2月，Team Switched再次开放了成员招募，以确保能在2018年夏季发布游戏的首个演示版本。[31]但在之后的几个月中，团队内部长期陷入缺乏动力、组织混乱以及沟通不畅的工作状态，此前的成员招募的成效也并不明显，游戏的发行因此被推迟。9月，Granpris因对该项目的动力逐渐丧失而将Team Switched团队领导的职位交给Beethovenus，后者随后在当月于GameJolt发布了项目的首篇正式进度报告，其中揭露了游戏第一个主要场景——Ruined Home的部分主要角色的翻新设计与参考图。[32]而第二个主要场景Starlight Isles的主要角色参考图也在Discord服务器内的万圣节活动结束后一同公开。[33]
2019年愚人节期间，Team Switched声称正式推出了TS!Underswap第一章的演示版本并附上了游戏宣传画面——其实际为换色处理的现有资产，[34]而在当天提供下载的游戏实为MrEpicHere777使用RPG Maker制作的恐怖游戏，即Team AAA Underswap™。[35][36]同年5月23日，Team Switched正式启用其官方SoundCloud账号并发布了首批正式曲目。[37]8月9日，Team Switched发布了自项目完全重做后的首个无剧透游玩预览视频，[38]其紧接2018年末发布的开场动画视频并展示了对此的一些修改与更新。[39]此外，在下半年Team Switched还接连发布了另外两个游玩预览视频，[40][41]其中也包含了全新内容与对先前内容的改进。[42]
2020年4月2日，Team Switched发布了动画短片Bugerpant: Origins，[43]其也是此前在2018年承诺制作的GameJolt关注破两万的特辑。[30][31]同年下半年，TS!Underswap首个演示版本的制作进入尾声，可游玩区域在8月宣布已被成功实装进游戏中，同时多语言本地化支持以及GameJolt集成等功能也陆续完成。[44]此外，部分配乐与精灵图也进行了翻新处理以确保游戏整体风格的统一。[45][46]11月1日，游戏的演示版本被确认即将发布，[47]其随后在首届Underevent的项目揭晓视频中进一步揭露了发布时段。[48]12月24日，游戏的首个正式演示版本在Windows、macOS、Linux系统以及Android移动平台上发布，[49][50]数个修复补丁的小版本也在当月先后发布。[51][52]
2021年3月21日，Team Switched在首届Underevent中展示TS!Underswap的创作历程以及下一个大版本更新——Starlight Isles场景的预告。[53]当日一同发布的进度报告，也揭晓了演示版本之后的角色和场景的参考与概念图。[54]同年7月，Team Switched发布了Starlight Isles的游玩预览视频，[55]其他内容如原创角色Koffin-K与次要场景Starstruck Village的预览也先后放出。[56][57]尽管游戏的开发持续稳步进行，但由于团队成员个人事务、游戏资产缺失等原因，在2022年底完成Starlight Isles的功能性开发并推进下一场景的开发工作的计划未能实现[58][59]——其实际在2023年8月才被宣布已完成。[60]此外，Squimpus因不当行为而被Team Switched除名一事，使得团队不得不重做其此前的所有个人贡献与包含其个人风格的内容。[61][62]
2023年12月24日，Team Switched在2023年Underevent公布了TS!Underswap游戏的2.0演示版本将于次年1月发布。[59][63]2024年1月21日，游戏的2.0演示版本正式在Windows、Linux系统以及Android移动平台上发布。[64][65]

角色信息
TS!Underswap通常围绕着玩家操纵的人类角色Chara，与其在穿越地底世界的旅途中遇到的各种形形色色的怪物——有着热情滑稽的潜在朋友或觊觎人类灵魂的嗜血敌人等角色展开。
该项目的角色最初为直接使用Underswap的形象，即PopcornPr1nce以“角色站位互换”这一概念进行设计的一系列角色。由于开发理念以及相关人员的变动，Team Switched在后来对角色的形象和性格进行了重新设计和多次迭代，例如使用更明亮且原创的服饰设计以贴合整体游戏基调，而以Sans为首的角色重新设计及其早期的负面反响往往被认作是开发团队明确角色设计方向的主要原因之一。除此之外，该项目也通过社区互动和内部集思广益等方式为其引入了如The Greasers、Koffin-K等原创角色。

TS!Underswap主要场景的设计基于“季节互换”概念——原作的季节主题顺序秋（Ruins）、冬（Snowdin）、春（Waterfall）、夏（Hotland）被更改成春、夏、秋、冬。
在早期开发进程中，Sunnedout与Coldsea分别替换原作的Snowdin与Hotland。但随着项目的大规模重做，为贴合项目的原创性与持续变动的整体设计基调，上述场景也进行了重新设计。其中，Sunnedount被Starlight Isles取代以避免该区域“只是没有雪的Snowdin”，[66]同时其也被设计成营造“神秘、超凡脱俗、充满魔力的森林”氛围的场景。[67]而Coldsea也在后续被更名作Boreal Bluffs以保持统一性。[68]此外，也有自开发初期就沿用至今的以蓝色为主的春季配色方案的Ruined Home，尽管其起初只是对原作资产的简单换色。

- “Mettacrit”一名出自Storyshift，Team Switched将其用作该项目的Mettaton正式称呼。
