Storyspin是由RousJuice创作的，现由Mwehster持有的，以“逆向Storyshift”为思路进行角色错位的同人项目。
该项目几经转手，在此版本前先后有RousJuice、Keno9988，以及Sage几位主要创作者。
历程
2016年4月4日，RousJuice在Imgur平台发布了Storyspin的首幅“像素条漫”，[1][2]并在之后的Tumblr Ask中揭露该项目的创作思路。[3]随后的一段时间内，RousJuice持续在Imgur投稿自制像素条漫，间或回答Tumblr上的问题。
同年10月7日，RousJuice在项目官方Tumblr账号宣布自己因各种原因选择放弃Storyspin，并将其所有权转让给Keno9988。[4][5]在接手Storyspin的两年间，Keno9988频繁活跃于官方Tumblr账号，以回答Ask作为更新。

2018年8月13日，Keno9988在自己的SoundCloud账号上发布了第一首由其创作的新版Storyspin官方曲目The Great Dog![6]。此后几年，该项目一直以音乐集的方式更新。
2022年初，Keno9988被曝光负面消息，其所创作的内容不再被社区所认可。Acid-raine随即联系Keno9988并从此处取得了Storyspin的所有权，而后又将项目所有权转让给了Sage和DepressoKnows。[7][8]但DepressoKnows在之后表示自己可能无法承担得起Storyspin曾持有人带来的各方面影响，遂自愿放弃项目领导人这一位置，与Acid-raine作为“发起人”的身份一同举荐Sage为Storyspin的新领导者。[9]

同年2月14日，Sage公开了由其领导的重启版本Storyspin官方Twitter账号，并在之后往该账号上传了其绘制的Frisk和Asgore形象。随后的某段时间内，Sage组建了Storyspin制作团队，并于8月9日创建了项目GameJolt页面。而在该页面中，Storyspin被标注为由Sage与Asukaaa共同持有。[10]
同年9月11日，Storyspin制作团队在GameJolt发布了八月进度更新，公开了一部分角色信息以及曲目，并透露其正在制作像素条漫。[11]在此之后，该项目进入了近一年的沉寂期。
2023年7月29日，Storyspin制作团队成员Mwehster在该项目的Discord服务器发文称自己获得了Storyspin的所有权。[12]随后Asukaaa也在原项目GameJolt页面发表文章，表示自己和Sage因失去对该项目的动力以及忙于其他项目而选择放弃所有权，并公开了这段时间内为Storyspin所制作的内容。[13]

琐事
- 该项目的大部分官方版本均有补充次要角色的换位，而Storyshift仅有十名主要角色之间的换位。
- 因该项目历代官方对翻版的态度有所不同，它的同人翻版限令常有变动：
2019年8月22日，Keno9988在官方Tumblr账号发布帖子称禁止创作Storyspin的同人翻版。[14][15]
在Sage取得Storyspin所有权后不久，有人向其提问关于该规定的问题，而Sage本人表示十分欢迎同人翻版。[16]
2022年7月29日，Sage突然在官方Twitter账号发文称“可以使用Storyspin的站位，但最好不要与Storyspin有直接关联或使用Storyspin名字”，虽没有明面宣称“禁止翻版”，但其实际限制内容是一致的。[17]
2023年4月4日，Asukaaa在官方Twitter账号发文表示，随着开发的变更，制作团队决定重新开放同人翻版。[18]
